Happy Friday, friends! What are you doing this weekend? We’re going to the farmers market to pick out mums and pumpkins for our front porch. I’m also hoping to check out a local, outdoor art show.

A Blast from the Past
I pulled out my old Nikon D70 to do some street photography with it. It was my dad’s camera from the early 2000s, and he gifted to me a few years ago. To my surprise, I discovered my 35mm prime lens was on the D70. I thought it was missing!
A few years ago, someone had broken into our old van and stole one of my cameras and camera gear. Included in the camera gear was my 50mm prime lens, but I thought my 35mm lens was also with the gear. This whole time, my 35mm lens was on my Nikon D70 just sitting on a shelf. Lol!
Pokémon Time!
We took the kids to their first ever Pokémon trading card event! The other children at the event were very kind to help them learn how to make trades. The kids had the best time and want to go to another Pokémon event again.
How to Make Collage Art
This cool collage art video from MoMA and artist Helina Metaferia. This is a great video tutorial on techniques and composition for creating a collage art piece.
I love how Helina references Romare Bearden, who is one of her favorite artist influences. I am a big fan of Romare Bearden’s artwork. The kids are starting on an art unit on collage art, and they will also be learning all about Bearden’s work. We’re going to watch this video together to learn some new ways to create collage art.
