This month, I am diving into photography books. I took a two-year break from my city and street photography, and this summer, I knew it was time to pick up my camera again.
I requested a bunch more photography books from a few libraries, but these four books will be a nice start.

I’m not on Instagram as much these days, but I do remember following Brandon Stanton’s IG account Humans of New York.
I like Brandon’s street portraits and the authentic stories he shares of his subjects.

Gordon Parks is one of my favorite photographers because of the way he told stories through his photographs.
When I look at his photographs, especially his street photography, I feel like I’m witnessing a real moment. It’s not staged. He truly had a gift.

And just because I saw this book on display, I thought I’d give some poetry a try. I don’t usually read a lot of poetry books. However, Zhen (13) and Zechariah (11) are learning about poetry this month, so I thought it’d be helpful for me.
What are you reading this month?
