Happy Christmas Eve

The first thing Zechariah (8) said to me when he woke up this morning was: “Happy Christmas Eve, Mom!”

Today has been a busy day, with running around for last-minute gift and grocery shopping. Travis tackled the first part of the day, starting at 7 a.m. And I finished up the shopping after lunchtime.

I stopped by two local businesses today: a small business bookstore and a children’s consignment shop.

I wanted to make it a point to get my last-minute gifts at a small business.

Since taking on a job in marketing for a small business owner, it has given me a greater appreciation and understanding of all of the hard work that goes into operating a small business.

I now try to shop locally and support small businesses as much as I possibly can.

Then One Foggy Christmas Eve

We truly had a foggy Christmas Eve today.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the foggy day. Maybe I can snap a picture of the fog early in the morning before it clears up.

*Update: I was able to get photos of our Christmas fog before it cleared and included them in this post.*

I didn’t make the connection of “a foggy Christmas Eve” to the holiday song until later this evening.

Foggy Christmas. Photo from my morning walk.

I was in my basement sorting the kids’ gifts to prep for wrapping, and all of a sudden, I started humming “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.”

It gave me a little flashback to when I was driving through the thick fog earlier in the day, heading to a local bookstore to get last-minute gifts for my two older kids.

“Then one foggy Christmas Eve.”

I started chuckling to myself and immediately went upstairs to share the joke with Travis (my husband).

He thought it was funny. Haha

Zaya’s new Christmas dress is so beautiful. Her big sister (my oldest daughter MK) gifted her the red dress.

No White Christmas This Year

Last year on Christmas Eve it snowed.

I remember Travis going out in the snowstorm to get last-minute gifts and Christmas groceries. That certainly was an adventure!

I love snow at Christmastime (unless it’s a snowstorm, though).

This year, we’re not going to get any snow. It’s supposed to be in the 50s with scattered showers.

It will still be a lovely Christmas, even if it is a rainy one.

Happy Christmas Eve! xoxo

I can’t wait to see the kids’ faces when they open their Christmas presents! It’s one of my favorite parts of Christmas because I love seeing my children happy.

What are your Christmas plans?

I hope you have a wonderful holiday! xoxo
